There is Hope

There is Hope

Last Year Was Tough! It was uncertain. Depressing. Even frightening. But will this new year be any better? Let’s hope so! Yet, just as last year surprised us all, there’s no guarantee this new year will be any better! So, is there any hope? Is there anything or anyone we can really trust?

Yes. There is hope.

But lasting hope is not found in a vaccine, science, or human resilience, as amazing as those things might be. Real hope must be anchored in something unfailing and unchanging. It must address the deepest longings of our hearts and the greatest needs of our world. The only one who can provide that kind of hope is Jesus Christ.
He came into our broken world thousands of years ago to bring real and
lasting hope — hope of guilt removed, of sins forgiven, of resurrection and
of eternal life!

The Apostle Paul put it this way in Ephesians 2:12-14: ‘…ye were without
Christ…having no hope, and without God in the world: but now in Christ
Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
For he is our peace…’
Christ came to bring hope to the hopeless. He did this by dealing with the
greatest problem – sin which leads to death.

Jesus offered Himself on the cross for the sins of the whole world. He died,
was buried and rose again as proof that He is God and that He can give
certain hope and eternal life to all who believe in Him. 1 Peter 1:3 says this: ‘Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again
unto a lively (living) hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the

Not only has Jesus conquered sin, death, and hell for all who believe on
Him, but He also promises to return for them and take them out of this world. Titus 2:13 says believers in Christ are, ‘Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;’

What are you hoping in? Where is your confidence? Can you guarantee that things will work out good in the end for you?

There is only one anchor for the soul, only one hope that is sure and stedfast – Jesus Christ who never changes and died to save you! (Hebrews 6:18-19; 13:8)

Will you believe on Him and trust in Him today?
